Library of the Chathams is seeking two Summer Reading Club Assistants for the summer of 2026.
Summer Reading Club Assistants will supervise teen volunteers, listen to reports on books from children of all ages, keep track of how much each child reads, administer prizes when reading benchmarks are reached, track volunteer hours, and ensure that the library’s busy summer reading program runs smoothly.
Approximately 30 hours per week, this position will last eight weeks, Monday through Saturday, from the week of June 22 through the week of August 13.
Must be willing and able to work all 8 weeks at morning, afternoon, and evening hours.
Experience using Excel and high school diploma required; some college preferred.
Compensation: $15.92 hourly

- Fishawack Festival (a street fair) - Saturday, June 6 – 9 am to 4 pm
- Volunteer orientation – Wednesday, June 10 from 3:30 to 5 pm
- Week of June 8 (approximately 10) at a mutually-agreeable time to set up Children’s Room, etc.
