Hi! I'm Stephanie, and I've been a Youth Services Librarian in public libraries both large and small for over 20 years. My passions in the field include creating dynamic storytimes for babies through preschoolers filled with music and fun, designing active yoga storytimes for toddlers through elementary schoolers, and teaching "night classes" to K-5th graders revolving around art, science, and crafting. I make lots of crochet hats for our events and I play as many songs on the ukulele as I can using the 3 chords I know! My team and I run an extremely successful Summer Reading Program each year, with more than 140 kids' events and 3,834 children attending our summer programs in 2025. I currently manage our library's board book and picture book collections, but I have ordered material all the way up through young adult during my career. I am passionate about creating a diverse collection and I take a firm stand against censorship and discrimination. I strive to help children find books that spark their curiosity and bring them joy! I look forward to mentoring anyone who may just be getting their feet wet in public librarianship, or even helping out a seasoned professional with a particular quandary.
