Heather Dalal

Heather A. Dalal (Assistant Professor-Librarian) is the Emerging Technologies Librarian at Rider University, a position she has held since September 2012. Previously, she served as the Information Literacy Librarian at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Heather has a Master of Education in Instructional Design, which she finds complements her MLIS. She is very enthusiastic about how she can utilize emerging technologies and her instructional design experience to ensure cost- and time-effective information literacy instruction that can meet all the needs, styles, and preferences of today's students. Her research interests include promotion and marketing of library tools & services, online training, instructional technologies, student research behavior, and assessment of student learning. 

Heather currently serves on the LITA Education Committee, the ACRL Distance Learning Section Standards Committee, ACRL-NJ User Education Committee (Co-Chair), the NJLA Emerging Technologies Section (Member at Large), and the NJ Virtual Academic Library Environment’s Shared Information Literacy Committee. Fun Fact: Heather serves as the advisor of both Asian Students at Rider and Tashan, Rider's Bollywood Dance Team.
