Instructions for Participating in the Spring FY18 LLNJ Keynote via Facebook Live |

Using the work of ALA’s Center for the Future of Libraries, this presentation will illuminate how thinking about the future begins with the study of change – looking outside of our immediate environments to consider the sustained trends happening in the wider world.
By focusing on specific categories of change – society, technology, economics, the environment, politics and government, education, and demographics – Miguel will share ways to engage the skills and interests of library staff and supporters.
Participants can look forward to a lively, collaborative session where they’ll learn how to:
- Create stronger connections across trends, leading to useful forecasts
- Identify both library values and the benefits libraries provide to their communities
-
Prioritize trends based on their immediate impacts on libraries, and their relevance to a community’s particular needs
