Building Chess Programs in Libraries - free event on Aug. 7 at 7 pm

Impact Chess gives a presentation that covers why chess is a good fit for libraries and how the game benefits children in their cognitive development and critical thinking skills.

Leap into Science Virtual Training December 15, 2022 from 2 pm - 4 pm

Hello, Youth Services Colleagues,

Are you interested in being trained to provide STEM/STEAM workshops for children ages 3 – 10 who you serve in your library? The State Leadership Team for Leap into Science is doing a virtual training on the Leap into Science curriculum “Light and Shadow” on December 15, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Developed by the Franklin Institute, Leap into Science integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books, designed for children ages 3-10 and their families.

November 2022 Peterson’s Test and Career Prep Pop-Up Workshops

Hi, I'm a co-chair of the PALS Plus Consortium's Reference and Adult Services Committee. We have arranged for three virtual workshops in November on how to help library patrons with Gale Peterson's Test and Career Preparation Online, which is provided by the New Jersey State Library.
