The Free Public Library of the City of Trenton is seeking an energetic, innovative, proactive and customer-service oriented individual for the full-time position of Adult Services Librarian. This full-time position requires experience in providing excellent customer-service, technology, readers' advisory, collection development, technical services, social media, and in working as an integral part of a team. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Polaris, and e-book platforms are a plus. The person we are seeking has excellent communication skills. Previous experience as a librarian is preferable. May be required to complete a cross-training in one or more areas; and to perform the work in Children's Services, Technical Services and/or Reference Services.
Qualifications include an MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited institution and have (or be eligible for) a NJ Professional Librarian's Certificate issued by the NJ Department of Education. The schedule for this position is 35 hours per week, including a regular evening, and Saturday coverage on a rotating basis. Salary is commensurate with experience.
