Schedule
35 hours per week; overtime as required. Includes one night per week and occasional weekend work.
Anticipated schedule: Monday, 9 to 5, Tuesday, 1 to 9, Wednesday, 9 to 5, Thursday, 9 to 5, Friday, 9 to 5, with a minimum of one weekend day per month. Flexibility and additional night and weekend work may be required for meetings or special events. Some shifts may be adjusted to 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to meet with contractors or vendors.

Duties
East Brunswick Public Library, an innovative library serving a diverse community, is searching for a creative professional to join our team as Assistant Library Director, managing day-to-day operations, working with community stakeholders, and working on a wide variety of projects. The Assistant Library Director will have six direct reports—the Passport Supervisor, Information Technology Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Circulation Manager, and two Security Monitors. The Assistant Library Director leads the library in human resources functions and facilities management, including developing policies and procedures and coordinating with Township departments. The Assistant Director also works on grant-funded projects, responds to day-to-day issues as they arise, and fills in for the Library Director in their absence.

Education and Experience
The Assistant Library Director must have a Master's degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA-accredited library school. Applicants must hold or be eligible for a New Jersey State Professional Librarian Certificate. A minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in public libraries, with at least three years in a supervisory or managerial role, is required.

Salary
Starting at $90,000 to $100,000, depending on qualifications.
