Bookkeeper (part-time) - Bernardsville Public Library
The Bernardsville Public Library seeks a part-time BOOKKEEPER to join a small and friendly team in Somerset County, New Jersey. The Library seeks an individual who can provide:
- A high school diploma and at least two years of relevant work experience.
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Professional and prompt customer service.
- Strong expertise in bookkeeping/accounting, including handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reports.
- Knowledge of cash handling practices, including preparing and reconciling cash drawers, withdrawing funds, and depositing funds.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of New Jersey municipal purchasing rules.
- Knowledge of government auditing practices.
- Ability to maintain organized records, manage asset lists, and use a financial filing system.
- Ability to independently initiate and organize work tasks.
- Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with staff and other stakeholders towards organizational excellence.
- Ability to complete other duties as assigned.
This position is available immediately and is neither temporary nor seasonal. There is some flexibility for the hours of this on-site office work. Wages are commensurate with experience and begin at $24.00 per hour for up to 18 hours per week. The library is a municipal entity and participation in a New Jersey retirement system is mandatory.
