Up to 19 hours/week, anticipated schedule to include: Monday 9-2, Wednesday 9-2, Friday 9-2 with additional hours as needed.

The Avalon Library is seeking a PT Business Assistant to be responsible for general business office tasks and leading the administration of the library’s purchase order process from generation to Board approval. They will also be responsible for maintaining accounting records, preparing reports, providing documentation and support for the annual library audit, and assisting with the coordination of facility maintenance and projects. At least 2+ years’ experience in a business office setting performing basic bookkeeping and/or accounts payable/accounts receivable functions & a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. The ideal candidate will also have experience using Edmunds municipal finance software and a BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Accounting or a related field.

Hourly rate of $26.00/hour meets NJLA recommendations for a bookkeeper. Schedule may include the occasional evening or weekend shift to support community outreach. Employment offers are conditional upon a successful background and reference check and include a probationary period.
