Job Title:                Head of Youth Services (Librarian 3)         Job Posting 010-22                                                                                                                         

Location:                M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch Library, Voorhees

Salary:                    $28.6710 hr ($52,181.22 annually), 35 hours per week

Schedule:              Based on library needs and will include days, evenings & occasional weekends
 

The Camden County Library is seeking a dynamic, collaborative leader with demonstrated team building and management skills who will manage our Youth Services Department and contribute to the success of the Library’s goals, strategic direction and vision. 

Under the direction of the Branch Manager the person in this position will:

  • Supervise all aspects of the Youth Services department including staff, scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, discipline, training and development
  • Prepare the department budget
  • Coordinate development and presentation of Children’s and Teen’s programming systemwide
  • Oversee the Youth Services Collection development
  • Chair the Youth Services Round Table
  • Build relationships with educational and community agencies and organizations
  • Serve on senior management and other teams and system committees
  • Public service duties include answering in-depth and complex reference and readers advisory questions for all customers, resolving complex customer issues, serving on the circulation desk, assisting customers on the public computers and other related duties as required. 
  • May be scheduled at other branches as necessary

Requirements:

A Master's degree in Library or Information Science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association and two (2) years  full time equivalent of professional librarian experience.  Prior supervisory experience a plus.  The chosen candidate is required to obtain a valid Professional Librarian Certificate issued by Thomas Edison State College. Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
