The Burlington County Library System (BCLS) consists of 15 locations and both a Mobile Library and a Mobile Learning Lab that travel to dozens of community touchpoints throughout the largest county in the state. In addition, a Library by Mail service expands our reach in new and unique ways. JOB DESCRIPTION 
The Children’s Services Department at the County Library seeks an individual who is passionate about serving children, teens, and caregivers. This position will be part of a team committed to offering creative and innovative programming, promoting library services and connecting with the local community to share all BCLS has to offer. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, service-oriented and self-motivated.

 • Design and implement children’s programs to facilitate a love of reading and learning to include, but not limited to, story times, crafts and STEM activities. 

• Participate in outreach events serving children, families and local early literacy organizations. 

• Provide outstanding customer service and readers’ advisory; demonstrate knowledge of print and online resources. 

• Assist with merchandising of materials for displays, exhibits and special events. 

• Assist with collection management tasks, including evaluating children’s materials, and collection development. 

• Attend professional conferences, seminars, and workshops; stay updated about professional activities and trends; attend and participate in staff meetings. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

REQUIREMENTS 
Education: A master’s degree in Library or Information Science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey Master’s program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College. License: Obtain a valid NJ license as a Professional Librarian within six (6) months of appointment. 

SCHEDULE 
Full-time, 37.5 hours; evenings and weekends. 4 Sundays a year. Flexibility a must for outreach events.
