Overview
The Director of Engagement & Outreach (DEO) works in concert with the Executive Director to engage with internal and external stakeholders, efficiently render services to the membership, manage strategic growth, and assist in the diversification of revenue streams. It is a multi-faceted role with a broad range of responsibilities that vary depending on need.
Top 6 Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures consistent communications related to services and member programming
- Provides strategic print and electronic communications, including for websites, reports, newsletters, press releases, brochures, and other documentation
- Plans and manages continuing education/professional development events
- Creates and evaluates surveys, statistics, and key performance indicators to help the organization make data-driven decisions
- Contributes to the creation of grant applications
- Assists in the cultivation of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Main Advisory Board and prospective donors
Qualifications
Education, Experience & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in library science, management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience working in a library, nonprofit, or government sectors
- 2+ years managing public-facing social media and/or public relations platforms

Proven track record of delivering excellent service in a library, nonprofit, or government environment

Expert communicator, both orally and in in writing

Ability to effectively speak publicly
Compensation
- Salary commensurate with experience, but within the $70,000-$85,000/yr range
- Generous health benefits
