Location: Monmouth University's Guggenheim Memorial Library. West Long Branch, NJ

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Library Technician-Evening.

The candidate would be expected to: assist in the maintenance of material in the general collection, periodicals and microforms; assist on duty library security guard with evening closings and emergency procedures when needed; assist patrons with reference questions as able when library is open and librarians are not on duty; check in and out material, issue library memberships, collect fines and fees, and answer questions about billing accounts and claims returned material.

Basic Knowledge of MS Word 2013, Basic Knowledge of MS Excel 2013, Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment

Required Years of Experience: 3

Other Requirements:
Library experience or comparable detail-oriented experience, which include decision-making and independent judgment; experience with automated systems.

Working knowledge of Innovative Interface “Sierra” online library management system or another web-based library management system of equivalent functionality and complexity.

Have the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing information-management environment. Must perform duties using broad knowledge of library, library practices and procedures; have the ability to meet deadlines and work independently under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to maintain copy machines and microfilm/fiche reader-printers and use multiple, integrated relational databases. Must be able to use a step stool and be capable of repetitious lifting and stretching.

Must be available to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the University academic calendar and library hours, including evenings and weekends, and extended hours prior to and during final exams.

Preferred Qualifications:
Intermediate knowledge of MS Word 2013 and Excel 2013.
