The Reference Librarian will be responsible for reference services and adult/young adult programming. Job responsibilities also include, but are not limited to: collection development, community outreach, teaching basic computer and technology classes, promoting events and services through social media, and collecting statistics in order to improve our services and program offerings. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is passionate about helping patrons with their information and technology needs. Our ideal candidate has excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patrons and staff.
An MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA accredited institution, a New Jersey Professional Librarian Certificate, and a valid NJ driver's license are required.
Residency in New Jersey is required by the "New Jersey First Act" (R.S.52:14-7). If you begin your office, position or employment on September 1, 2011 or later, you must reside in New Jersey. If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date you take your office, position or employment to relocate your residence to New Jersey. If you do not do so, you are subject to removal from your office, position or employment. Residency in Deptford Township preferred.
