The Camden County Library System is looking for a candidate that is able to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and deliver programs and services both virtually and in-person. The successful candidate will be creative, positive and passionate in finding ways to bring programs, services and materials to residents of Camden County.
Description of Duties
We are seeking a creative professional with enthusiasm for working with children (ages birth through grade 5) and their families and care givers.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Developing and presenting a variety of programs in person and virtually
-Selecting diverse materials for and maintaining assigned sections of the Youth Services collection
-Proactively conducting outreach to the local community and organizations
-Collection development including purchasing and weeding
-Providing reference and readers advisory assistance for all
-Providing excellent customer service , in person, over the phone and by email for all
-Other duties as assigned
-May act as the Person-in-Charge of the branch and be scheduled at other Library facilities as needed.
Education/Certification/Experience/ Requirements:
Librarian 1 requires: A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master' program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.
Librarian 2 requires: the above requirements and one year of full time equivalent professional librarian experience
-Possession of a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate issued by Thomas Edison College or the credentials and willingness to obtain a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate upon hiring.
-Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
