Are you an ambitious, newly minted librarian (or a soon-to-graduate MLS) with a passion for collection development? Elizabeth Public Library, an innovative urban library, has an opening in early 2024 for a full-time librarian who will work in the Information & Adult Services Department.

For over 100 years, the mission of Elizabeth Public Library has been to serve as a focal point for our community's lifelong educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs. We believe that lives and communities can be improved with information, and strive to connect our patrons with the information needed to resolve difficult life issues. We do this while remaining positive and maintaining a sense of humor.

We are looking for a creative, innovative, and team-oriented librarian willing to experience the highs and lows of working in a busy urban library. EPL serves a population of 140,000, through 4 locations, in a city that serves as the County seat. The preferred candidate will develop, manage, and maintain the adult collection at our Main Branch, one of the largest collections in Union County and the library consortium LMxAC.

We invite those who share our passion for serving the patrons of the Library to grow with us. We strive to support and reflect our community through our dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We strongly urge people of color, people who identify as LGBTQ+, people of all ages, and people with disabilities to apply. The Library is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
