The Tinton Falls Public Library, a Member Library of the Monmouth County Library (MCL) system, in Tinton Falls, NJ seeks an energetic, part-time Library Assistant to join our staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Charging and discharging library materials
- Answering patron questions in person and on the phone
- Issuing new library cards
- Accepting payment for library fees
- Shelving books, straightening, and organizing shelves
- Preparing and repairing library materials for circulation
- Assisting with programs as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED. Associate degree preferred.
- Strong customer service skills
- Competence in computer operations (Windows environment)
- 2 to 3 years of previous library experience preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to repetitively bend and lift up to 25lbs.
Schedule: 20 hours per week including day, evening, and Saturday hours. Specific schedule to be determined with Board approval as the Library is reopening after a long-term closure.
Compensation: $15.00 an hour. No benefits provided.
