Job Title:                 Network Administrator, Job Posting 041-22                                                                             Location:                 Information Technology Department, Voorhees
Salary:                     $32.2169 hr ($58,634.76 annually), 35 hours per week
Schedule:              Based on library needs, primarily Monday through Friday

 

The Camden County Library is seeking a collaborative team member who can work with staff at all branches and contribute to the Library’s mission and goals.

Under the direction of the Library’s Head of Information Technology Department, the person in this position will maintain the integrity of the network:

  • Install and support the Library’s LAN, WAN (transport-circuit/EVPL), network segments, telecommunication systems, Internet & intranet systems.
  • Perform administration, backup, and maintenance for servers (including domain controllers), routers, and switches and installing hardware & software.
  • Configure VLANs and VPNs, and Wi-Fi networks.  (Build new networks to design specifications – as needed).
  • Manage security solutions:  including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems, apply email Spam and Virus filtering.
  • Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.  Create and archive network specific documentation.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network cabling and other networking equipment such as, but not limited to, hubs, switches, and UPSs,
  • Monitor conditions of server room and network closets throughout the system.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of standard networking protocols for communication, management, and security (i.e. HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, TCP, UDP, IRC POP, IMAP, SMTP, and or FTP). 
  • Knowledge and experience required, but not limited to Windows PC and server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange.
  • Knowledge and experience with VoIP phone systems and or security systems a plus.
  • Work with outside vendors or contractors.
  • Travel to other library branches as required

Requirements:

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree which must include a minimum of eighteen (18) semester hour credits in mathematics, and/or computer science. NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the Bachelor's degree but possess the 18 semester hour credits may substitute additional experience as indicated below on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience.  NOTE: Evidence of formal training in Computer Science/Information Technology received at an accredited institution may be submitted with your application for evaluation by the Civil Service Commission for possible credit. These training courses will be examined to see how they compare, both in hours/content, to college courses to which they equate, sixteen (16) training hours being equal to one (1) college credit. In house training courses will not be accepted as meeting this criteria; thus, they will not be evaluated.

EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of multinetwork, multi-user Local Area Networks (LAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), and/or Wide Area Networks (WAN) environments.  NOTE:  For positions involved in the administration of a Storage Area Network, in lieu of the above experience requirement, applicants must have three (3) years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting network hardware and software, at least one (1) year of which shall have been in the planning, implementation, and support of storage area network

and related technologies.  Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
