The Mahwah Public Library seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic professional to join the adult services team as a part-time librarian.

Under general direction of the Head of Adult Services, the part-time librarian will be responsible for providing a broad range of library services including: answering reference and informational questions, providing readers advisory services, answering questions regarding library events and registration for programs, assisting with library technology, and answering basic questions about the Library’s passport processing services.  In addition, the selected individual will be the librarian in charge when working on Sundays and will open the building and resolve patron concerns.  The successful candidate will be passionate about library services and will thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment where outstanding customer service is expected.  

The part-time librarian works two Saturdays per month, every other Sunday, plus occasional fill in coverage as mutually agreeable.  The successful candidate will have a MLS from an ALA-accredited school and a NJ professional librarian certificate.  Demonstrated experience in customer service is required; experience with Leap/Polaris is desirable.  Pay is $31.84/hr. for weekdays and Saturdays and $42.44/hr. on Sundays.
