The Moorestown Public Library is seeking a dynamic librarian to join its adult services team. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, have outstanding communication skills, and possess the ability to answer a variety of questions with enthusiasm in a reference department serving patrons of all ages. Comfort level with current and emerging technologies is a must, as is the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and deliver programs and services both virtually and in-person.
Duties will include reference and reader’s advisory, collection development, and facilitating programs and technology training. Performs other duties as assigned.
Hours: 20 hours per week including one evening per week and one Saturday per month.
Required qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program. Students nearing completion of a degree will be considered.
Compensation Range from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
Anticipated start date: September 13, 2021
Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment physical and a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
The position requires residency in the State of New Jersey. If the successful applicant is not a New Jersey resident, he or she must become a bona fide New Jersey resident within one year. Applicants from Moorestown will have first consideration.
