Part-Time Library Director – Haledon, NJ
The Haledon Public Library Board of Trustees seeks a part-time director to serve as administrator of the library. He or she will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the operation of the library according to the policies, rules, and authority delegated by the Board of Trustees. The director will supervise all library personnel, oversee planning of all programming, establish internal policies and procedures, develop and plan the library budget, oversee collection development, recruit and assign new employees, and communicate with the board.
Qualifications: An ALA accredited Master’s degree or a Professional Librarian’s Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education. Experience as a director preferred. The ideal candidate will understand the needs of a small, urban community, promote a positive work culture, and enable staff to provide creative and dynamic services and programming; and implement new and appropriate technologies for a library. PALS Plus experience a plus. The job entails approximately 20 hours a week, with some evening hours.
