Job Summary:
The Springfield Free Public Library Is looking to hire part-time library assistants to work at both the circulation desk and the technical processing department. Schedules for these positions will be determined according to the needs of the library, but applicants should be available to work one evening per week and a varying number of Saturday shifts throughout the year. The ability to work Sunday afternoon hours at the rate of time and a half is also a plus.
Qualifications / Salary:
Requirements for the position include having a high school diploma or equivalent, enjoying working with the public, being comfortable working with computers, and being physically able to shelve books. The starting salary is $15.13 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey minimum wage for 2024. The position also offers paid sick time in accordance with NJ state law, plus paid vacation time based on the number of hours worked per week.
