TITLE: Librarian 1 SALARY: $45,654 - $57,397 DEPARTMENT: Public Library DATE POSTED: May 19, 2023 DEADLINE: June 2, 2023 The City of Perth Amboy is looking for an individual to fill a full-time position of Librarian 1 within the Perth Amboy Public Library. Job Description: Under supervision of the Library Director and Library Supervisor, the Librarian provides a variety of library servicesin one or more functional areas of the library requiring substantial professional knowledge of and experience with librarianship theories, principles and practices; may take the lead and coordinate work assignments of Librarians 1, and/or paraprofessional/ technical staff. The Librarian is also responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing educational programs, workshops, and library events that are on and off-site within the City of Perth Amboy; performs related duties as required. Requirements: A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master' program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State University. Appointees may be required to possess a valid certification as a Professional Librarian. Must have the ability to speak, read and write in English and Spanish.
