Title: Part-time Librarian 1, Temporary
Salary: $27.15 hourly

DESCRIPTION:
The Burlington County Library seeks an enthusiastic, service-oriented, and self-motivated individual to join its team as a temporary librarian. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with the public and staff. The individual should demonstrate solid technology skills and the ability to teach those skills to a diverse group of library customers.
Examples of duties include: • Assist customers with questions about services and resources the library offers. • Respond to one-on-one individualized assistance. • Participate in department initiatives and special projects as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
A master’s degree in Library or Information Science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey Master’s program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College. Obtain a valid NJ license as a Professional Librarian within six (6) months of appointment.
SCHEDULE:
24 hours per week, schedule to be determined but will include evenings and weekends.

Students completing graduate school in Spring 2023 are encouraged to apply. Candidates who do not have a master’s degree and valid certification as a Professional Librarian at the time of offer will be temporarily placed in the title of Library Associate at a salary of $21.95 hourly until all credentials are in place
