Title: Reference/Adult Services Librarian PT Salary: $25 per hour
8-14 hours per week
The Mount Laurel Library is looking for an enthusiastic and creative librarian to join our Information Services team. The ideal candidate will:
DESCRIPTION
- Welcomes and serves all customers of the Mount Laurel Library
- Provide reference and readers’ advisory services for patrons of all ages.
- Assist patrons with research, web searching, and computer software.
- Provide technology instruction and trouble shooting.
- Regularly staff the information desk.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the Information Services team.
- Participate in collection development.
- Keep current with trends in technology and social media and ways to apply them.
- May be Person in Charge
- Performs other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: A Master’s degree in Library or Information Science in a library program accredited by ALA or from a New Jersey Master’s program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.
- We will also consider current MLS students nearing the completion of their graduate degree from an accredited school, with title and salary adjusted accordingly.
- License: Obtain a valid NJ License as a Professional Librarian within six (6) months of appointment.
- Applicant must comply with the “New Jersey First Act”.
SCHEDULE
8-14 hours per week: 2 evenings per week and alternating Sundays.
Flexibility to cover additional shifts when needed preferred.
