The Scotch Plains Public Library is seeking a motivated, passionate Full-Time Youth Services Librarian. This position includes one evening (Thursday) per week and one Saturday shift per month.
Essential responsibilities:

Provide reference services and reader’s advisory to youth, caregivers, educators and the general public

Work collaboratively with the Head of Youth Services and other Youth Services Librarians to develop, promote and facilitate daily and monthly programs

Assist in maintaining assigned collections within Youth Services including adding items to the collection and running collection reports.

Write and design publicity for the library’s weekly newsletter and social media accounts

Experience using web-based applications (Wordpress) highly desirable

Work independently and in a collaborative environment as needed

Report monthly statistics

Readily undertake other duties as assigned
Desired Experience:

Previous experience working with either Early Literacy and/or Middle or High School Students
