The Clifton Public Library (Passaic County) is seeking Library Assistants to add to our Sunday-only roster.
Typically, the Main Library, 292 Piaget Avenue, is open on Sundays from end of September/early October into December, and again from mid-January up until the week before Memorial Day weekend. We are closed on Mother’s Day and Easter. Schedules are done twice per year, ahead of each season. Although the Library has resumed all of its regular hours since returning from pandemic closures, we are looking to resume Sundays in fall of 2023 or winter of 2024.
Our Sundays are not part of the regular workweek. By union contract, Sundays are to be filled first by regular Clifton Library employees seeking extra work. If holes in the schedule remain, workers from a Sunday-only roster may be used. Regularity and frequency of your schedule may vary based on need.
We are open from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. Rate of pay for Sunday Library Assistants is a flat rate of $100 for the four hours. Pay is done through direct deposit bi-monthly. Prior experience working in libraries is preferred. We will need help at the circulation desk as well as the service desk in the children’s room. If hired, applicants 18 and over require a background check.
