Collection Services and Electronic Resources Librarian (Temporary Full-Time Salaried, Flexible/Daytime Hours, Monday - Friday, 35 Hours per week)

This is a temporary full-time, 12-month non-tenure track position with faculty status. This position is responsible for the development, management, interpretation, and promotion of the Sister Mary Joseph Cunningham Library’s general and special collections in both physical and digital formats. The incumbent works closely with our team of librarians to ensure the Library’s collection services are well understood and communicated to the GCU community, and that they meet their current and future research needs. Also provides reference service and library instruction as part of our team of librarians. Reports to the Director of Library Services.

Requirements:

  • An MLS, or other master's degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association or from a program accredited in a country with a formal accreditation process as identified by ALA’s Human Resource Development and Recruitment Office. Second masters/advanced degree desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of library collection development budgets required.
  • Experience leading collection reclamation and analysis projects in an academic library setting.
  • Experience coordinating workflows within a technical services department preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of LibGuides, Camtasia, and course management systems required.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Java, content management systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and Camtasia preferred.
  • Experience with system administration for EZProxy preferred.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Experience with library instruction and reference services.
  • Experience in an academic library including reference, collection development, and library instruction preferred.
  • Copy cataloging knowledge required. Knowledge of original cataloging preferred.
