TVs in Quiet Study Rooms for Patron Use

Forums

Hi all,

I am wondering how other libraries use their Quiet Study Rooms in terms of Technology. Currently, we have just 2 rooms based on the size of our library and population in Cranbury. However, our Quiet Study Rooms can hold roughly 5-6 people around the desk. the desk itself has power and USB ports for proper charging and 1 standing whiteboard in each.

I am looking to enhance these rooms by wall mounting a TV, thus giving patrons the ability to extend their display to say a 40-50inch TV. Typically we get WFH adults who have conferences, take Zoom Meetings, and even have had some impromptu mini in-person meetings.

I am looking for some thoughts on maybe what TV to use that could also be used for Patron use. In our Teen Space we have an Amazon Fire TV, that gives use the ability to connect thru HDMI and provide some TV watching and other streaming services. I guess more specifically, I am asking would you allow patrons the ability to access this type of content with their own say account for Netflix or Hulu. I am guessing some patrons who have access to these accounts could technically use a library's public PCs for this use as well. Would you restrict some of the features of the TV and only have it use as an eternal display?
