New Jersey State Library to Award Northstar Digital Literacy Licenses

Since November 2021, the New Jersey State Library has offered licenses for Northstar Digital Literacy to sixty public libraries that signed up or through their participation in NJSL + Partners Hub, Spokes, and Access Navigators. The NJSL is now adding 25 licenses beginning in January 2023 to bring the total number of libraries offering this resource to 85.

These additional licenses will be assigned on a first come, first served basis and will be valid through the end of September 2023.

Google Career Certificates

Posting on behalf of Luis Rodriguez, Butler Public Library:

The Butler Public Library has been given 500 scholarships to allow you to earn a Google Career Certificate (you do not have to live in Butler to get a scholarship).  Google offers career certificates on five areas:

Project Management | UX Design | Data Analytics | IT Support | Digital Marketing

The certificate programs are completely online and self-paced.  After completing a certificate, Google will help you gain employment.

Distinguished Service Award

This award honors an individual member of ALSC who has made significant contributions to, and an impact on, library service to children and/or ALSC.  The recipient receives $2,000 and an engraved pin at the ALSC Membership Meeting during ALA Annual Conference.
