Naloxone Training Opportunities
Join Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services for a free, virtual training about overdose death prevention strategies on October 4th or October 20th 1pm-2:30pm. (Please only select one date.) Each session will cover the appropriate administration of naloxone and rescue breathing and attendees will each receive one naloxone kit via UPS after the session.

FYI - if your organization has a federal SAM (System for Award Management) number - which is now necessary in order to apply for federal grant funding -- please be aware that there are scammers out there who claim they can renew your SAM registration for you. I just received an email from one of these dubious companies.

Formed January 10, 2017 Libraries Work (LibsWork) is a national networking group focused on advancing information, resources and programs related to workforce development. The group meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 2:00-3:30pm ET to hear presentations about jobseeker, workforce development, digital literacy, business services, and other topics. Group discussion and resource sharing are also encouraged through these meetings.

The 2022 NJLibsGrowBiz Summit will be held virtually on September 15, 2022 from 10am-2pm. This mini-conference will focus on the role libraries can play in economic development and share creative ways libraries can start or grow their business outreach and services. The keynote address from Samira Cook Gaines, Managing Director of Strategic Partnerships at Rising Tide Capital, will provide guidance to librarians on how to create inclusive policies, programs, and partnerships that will support under-resourced entrepreneurs and make library programs more equitable.
My Networking Central (https://www.mynetworkingcentral.com/) is a shared calendar of NJ events and speakers related to career development. It was created by volunteers with various professional networking groups who got tired of conducting multiple searches and managing separate calendars.
Libraries are welcome to become contributors and add their own events or use the database of speakers and shared calendar to identify training providers.
