Security Monitor (Part-time)

Schedule
20 hours per week:
• Mondays 3:30pm – 9:30pm
• Tuesdays 3:30pm – 9:30pm
• Fridays 2:30pm – 6:30pm
• Saturdays 1:30pm – 5:30pm
Essential Functions
A Security Monitor conducts surveillance of the building, grounds and activities; ensures the security of the building; and enforces established rules and regulations, including the library’s Code of Conduct.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Ability
This position requires a general knowledge of practices concerning the protection of buildings and grounds; the ability to recognize and identify activities or situations which have or may become a problem or emergency situation, and the ability to think and act quickly under emergency situations. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teens is a must. A successful candidate will be skilled in de-escalation techniques, and will be able to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere at the library.
Educational Experience
This position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. NJ Security Guard certification desired.
Salary
$14.33 per hour
