Hourly Librarian, Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library

The Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, tech-savvy, customer service-oriented librarian to join our friendly Adult Services team. 

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reference and readers’ advisory service
  • Collection development
  • Programming

Requirements:

  • MLS from an ALA-accredited program, or degree near completion
  • Interest in emerging technologies and familiarity with current trends in public library service
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Eager willingness to work in the Youth Services department when needed
  • Flexible schedule

Schedule:

  • Mondays, 5-9pm, Wednesdays, 5-9pm, Saturdays 1-5pm, plus occasional fill-ins

Salary:

  • $31.84/hour ($24.60 for MLIS students)
