Adult Services Librarian – Part time
The Moorestown Public Library is seeking a dynamic librarian to join its adult services team. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, have outstanding communication skills, and possess the ability to answer a variety of questions with enthusiasm in a reference department serving patrons of all ages. Comfort with current and emerging technologies is a must, as is the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
Duties: reference and reader’s advisory; collection development; developing, scheduling, and conducting a variety of in-person and virtual programs for adults and working with the social media team. Performs other duties as assigned.
Hours: 24 hours per week including one or two evenings per week and one Saturday per month.
Required qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program. Students nearing completion of a degree will be considered.
Compensation: $24 to $30 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include paid sick and vacation time and enrollment in retirement program.
Anticipated start date: November 1
Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment physical and a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
The position requires residency in the State of New Jersey. If the successful applicant is not a New Jersey resident, he or she must become a bona fide New Jersey resident within one year. Applicants from Moorestown will have first consideration.
