Salary:                      $24.7672 per hour ($45,076.30 annually-Librarian 1)
                                  $26.0049 per hour ($47,328.92 annually-Librarian 2)

Schedule:              35 hours per week - Based on library needs and will include days, evenings & occasional weekends

Description of Duties

The South County Regional Branch Library of the Camden County Library is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and creative Librarian who loves to work with the public both in person and virtually. Duties include developing and presenting programming for children (ages birth through grade 5); providing reference and reader’s advisory services to all ages; answering questions in-person, over the phone and by email; assisting customers on the public computers; acting as the newsletter coordinator for the branch; collection development including purchasing, weeding, and up keep of assigned collection areas which will include children’s materials; proactively conducting outreach to the local community and organizations; conducting library tours; assisting at the circulation desk as needed; and performing other related duties as required. May be scheduled at other Library facilities.

May act as the Person-in-Charge of the branch.

 

Education/Certification/Experience/ Requirements:

A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master' program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College. 

Possession of a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate issued by Thomas Edison College or the credentials and willingness to obtain a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate upon hiring.   Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
Librarian 2 requires: One year of full time equivalent professional librarian experience as well as the requirements listed above
