Primary Location:    Camden County Library System, Voorhees                                                                                                                               

Salary:                      $24.7672 per hour ($45,076.30 annually)

                                  $26.0049 per hour ($47,328.92 annually)

Schedule:                 35 hours per week - Based on library needs and will include days, evenings &                                                   occasional weekends

Description of Duties

The Adult Services Department of the Camden County Library is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and creative Librarian who loves to work with the public both in person and virtually. This librarian will develop programs, classes, and services to assist businesses, employers, entrepreneurs, and job seekers and will build relationships with organizations and agencies that serve the business community as well as those seeking employment.

Duties will also include providing Reference and Readers’ Advisory services in person, by phone, and via email and chat; instructing customers in the use of our catalog, databases, and digital services; collection development; community outreach; teaching computer technology classes; and developing, scheduling, and conducting a diverse range of programs for adults;  other duties as assigned.  May act as the Person-in-charge of the branch. May be scheduled to work at other Library facilities.

Education/Certification/Experience/ Requirements:

A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master' program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.  December 2021 MLIS graduates encouraged to apply.
Librarian 2 requires: One year of full time equivalent professional librarian experience 

Possession of a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate issued by Thomas Edison College or the credentials and willingness to obtain a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate upon hiring.   Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
