Become a Labor & Literacy Library!

Forums

Registration is now open for the Labor & Literacy Library program.  https://www.njstatelib.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Registration-LLL.pdf

The Labor & Literacy Library program aims to build on the successful work developed through the NJSL+ Partners Literacy project, a collaborative effort between the New Jersey State Library and Plainfield Public Library, by supporting NJ Libraries as they provide assistance to their patrons seeking digital literacy skills, Adult Basic Education (ABE), English Language Learning (ELL/ESL), and job search assistance.

The Labor & Literacy Library program will include:

  • Access to staff training on topics such as basics of adult education, teaching digital literacy, and providing career preparation assistance
  • Workshops-in-a-Box style webinars that libraries can use to get started
  • Downloadable presentation materials for libraries offering training to their patrons
  • Monthly check-in meetings
  • Networking and cohort-building opportunities
  • Centralized support and unified branding of services through the program
  • And more!

Still have questions? Join us on January 10 from 2:00-3:00pm for a repeat of the webinar, “Why Become a Labor & Literacy Library.”
