Forums

Hello, I am posting this on behalf of Rutgers LIS doctoral student Yunhee Shim. I just spent an hour talking with her about ebook content management and she needs to interview more people who have experience purchasing/managing ebook content. Hope you'll consider contacting her.

Best,

Mary Martin, Wanaque Library

Dear public librarians,

I am Yunhee Shim, a second-year Ph.D. student in the Rutgers LIS department. My PI, Shagun Jhaver, and I research ebook content moderation in a library setting. Our study will explore the ebook subscription service practices such as Hoopla in public libraries, find the curation problems of ebook services, and suggest possible solutions for the issues.

As part of this study, we would like to interview public librarians with experience managing ebook content. Your expertise and influence will greatly help our research.

The interview participants will be those currently working at public libraries and with experience in e-book content management (such as purchasing). We would recruit about 15 librarians and have an online interview of 60-90 minutes for each participant.

We would appreciate it if you could introduce us to the public librarian community where we can post the recruitment.

We also created a webpage for this project: https://shagunjhaver.com/library-study/ . Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.

If you are interested in being interviewed for this research please contact me at ys808 [at] comminfo.rutgers.edu. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule.

Best,
Yunhee Shim.
