Dear colleagues,

Thanks to the New Jersey State Library, Peterson’s Test and Career Prep online resource is now available for free to all residents of New Jersey. No library card is needed. The PALS Plus Reference & Adult Services Committee has arranged short (30 minute) pop-up workshops with Stacey Knibloe, Gale Senior Training Consultant, to help us learn how to assist specific groups of library patrons with Peterson’s Test and Career Prep. All library staffers are invited and encouraged to attend.

Join Stacey Knibloe, Senior Training Consultant at Gale, for a brief overview of the Peterson’s Test and Career Prep resources aimed specifically at job hunters or people interested in career changes. Can’t attend the Zoom? No problem, it will be recorded and added to the PALS Plus PPRC.  Resources include:

  • GED high school equivalency exam
  • ASVAB (Military) practice tests
  • Civil Service practice tests
  • Cosmetology & Barbering 
  • Nursing, pharmacology, dental and medical assistance practice tests
  • Real Estate license exam
  • Microsoft Office tutorial videos
  • Create a Resume 
  • Career Advice

Did you know that Peterson’s Test and Career Prep Online contains dozens of great resources for people who need help with basic skills, as well as for people who need to brush up on their command of the English language or study to become a U. S. Citizen? Join Stacey Knibloe, Senior Training Consultant at Gale, for a brief overview of these Peterson’s Test and Career Prep resources.  Can’t attend the Zoom?   • GED High School Equivalency exam
  • Basic skills - English and writing
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) practice tests
  • Practice sets for TOEFL (reading comprehension, writing, and vocabulary)
  • TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) practice tests
  • Citizenship study guides and practice tests

 

Stacey also did a workshop for us today on how to use Peterson's to help middle and high school students and their parents.
