LibraryLinkNJ, The New Jersey Library Cooperative (LLNJ) is seeking a strong library advocate to join its Executive Board as a Lay Representative serving a three year term beginning July 1, 2022. The Executive Board consists of fifteen members including two lay representatives, neither of which may be a librarian or retired librarian.
This is a particularly exciting time as LLNJ is currently in the process of developing its FY 2023-2025 Strategic Plan setting the Cooperative’s direction for the next three years. The Cooperative will continue to foster library innovation, continuing education, networking, and collaboration, and facilitate efficient and cost-effective resource sharing.
The LLNJ Nominating Committee is recruiting qualified candidates who have an interest in seeing all types of New Jersey Libraries grow and thrive. Candidates with experience in the nonprofit sector and/or fundraising and fund development are particularly desirable.
The LLNJ Executive Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 2:30 PM. Board meetings are currently being held via Zoom with the plan to return to some in-person meetings in the coming year. The location of the in-person meetings will rotate among different locations in the state. Board members serve without compensation.
LLNJ is a nonprofit, multi-type library organization established under the New Jersey Library Network Law and the regulations under New Jersey Administrative Code. LibraryLinkNJ and its services are funded by the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion and funding of the New Jersey Library Network.
LLNJ has over 1,300 voting representatives from over 2,500 public and private school, public, academic, institutional, corporate, health sciences and special libraries and library-related agencies. Members join at no charge and pay no dues.
