FYI - if your organization has a federal SAM (System for Award Management) number - which is now necessary in order to apply for federal grant funding -- please be aware that there are scammers out there who claim they can renew your SAM registration for you. I just received an email from one of these dubious companies.
Yes, it's true that an organization's SAM number must be renewed yearly, but we can do this ourselves by logging into Sam.gov. Companies that say they can do this for you are probably going to either charge you money for something you can do for free on your own, or use the information you give them in a way you probably won't like.

Bottom line: if you get an email about renewing your SAM number that didn't originate from a .gov domain, think twice before responding.
