Description:

The Wayne Public Library seeks several substitute Librarians to cover Reference Desk shifts as needed. Typical shifts are evenings Monday-Thursday (5-9 PM), Saturdays (9:30 AM-5 PM), and Sundays (12:30 -5 PM).

Shifts will be given on a first-come, first-served basis as they arise. There is no guarantee of any minimum hours.

 

Reference Desk Duties:

  • Standard Reference Librarian duties, including but not limited to:
    • Provide general reference, technology support, and Readers’ advisory services to library patrons
    • Guide patrons with regard to the location of library materials and special documents
  • Stay abreast of WPL-specific policies and practices and implement appropriately

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters in Library & Information Science from an accredited university.
  • Familiarity with Sirsi Dynix System preferred
  • Excellent customer service required

 

Compensation: 

  • $30 per hour.
