Dear colleagues,

I am forwarding an email I received this afternoon from the University of Michigan School of Information. They are looking for projects that their students can work on during the winter semester, for a few specific classes (see below). I've worked with them twice and both times I have been very happy with the (free) work their students did for us.  If you can think of a project you might be able to use their help on, it might be worth applying (their deadline is Nov 16th).

Dear Mary,

We hope this finds you well! The University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) is seeking projects from organizations for students to work on during the winter semester, which runs from January through April. We would like to invite you to submit a project idea, ideally by November 16th or as soon as possible. There is no cost to host a project. 

We are excited to share with you this course for libraries and cultural institutions that are accepting projects:

Upon completing the project idea form, a team member will follow up within a week to invite you to tell us more about the idea or request a full proposal. Once a full proposal is submitted, we will work with you to scope the project for a specific course until it is handed over to a student team. Please note that while we do our best to match all projects to a team, some won’t be selected. 

 You can find other ways to engage with our students, such as visiting as a speaker or providing mentorship, at our website here. You can also learn more about being a client here.
