Library Director, Roxbury Public Library | June 29, 2024 | The Roxbury Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking an enthusiastic and visionary Director for our forward-thinking library. Our library is an active and valued part of the Roxbury community. Functioning as both a leader and partner in our community, the library enjoys very supportive relationships with the library board, local organizations, and the township. We are looking for a leader who can continue to engage the staff, advance our plans to redesign the library’s physical space, and seek out new and exciting ways to serve our community. Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong financial management skills, and continue to align our funding with our library’s goals. About Our Library: Roxbury Public Library serves nearly 23,000 residents. Our library is highly valued by our community and local stakeholders. We have an annual budget of approximately $1.7 million; and a dedicated, experienced staff that includes 7 full-time and 12 part-time employees. The library also has a strong library foundation and a dedicated friends group. About This Opportunity: The Roxbury Library Board of Trustees is seeking an enthusiastic Director for our library, who will also prioritize our role as a leader and valued partner in the community. Our ideal candidate will build on the success of our library by engaging the staff, the board, the township, and the Friends of the Library, and lead us forward to new levels of community service. Our new Director will be fiscally responsible, and work on short and long term budget priorities with the support of the library foundation and the Friends of the Library. Required Experience:

Director, Franklin Township Library (Gloucester) | June 13, 2024 | The Board of Trustees of the Franklin Township Free Public Library located in Franklinville, NJ, seeks an enthusiastic, experienced director to lead our newly renovated library into the future by providing residents with opportunities for cultural enrichment, education, and community engagement. Franklin Township is a rural, 56 square mile area located in Gloucester County with a population of approximately 17,000 people. While the library is a municipal library, it is part of the LOGIN Consortium which consists of 22 other libraries.
Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the nine-member Library Board of Trustees, the Director is responsible for all library operations and overall administration and management of the library. Specific areas of responsibility include board relations; planning, organization, and evaluation of library services; general administration and financial management; internal and external communications; and professional and staff development. Qualifications/Requirements: A master’s degree in Library or Information Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey college that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College; a minimum of at least five years of progressively increasing administrative/managerial responsibility, preferably in a municipal public library. Must successfully pass a criminal background check and reside in the state of New Jersey as required by the New Jersey First Act (R.S.52:14-7). Full-Time Reference Librarian - Cranford Public Library | June 12, 2024 | The Cranford Public Library is accepting applications for a full time Librarian position in our Reference Department. The work week is 35 hours, including evening and weekend hours on a rotating basis. The library is located in Union County and is a member of the Sharing & Technology Enhancing Local Library Access consortium (STELLA), formerly called LMxAC, as well as the Libraries of Union County Consortium and Middlesex/ Union Reciprocal Agreement Libraries.

REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE At least one year experience working in Reference/Adult Services in a public library environment is preferred
SKILLS
EDUCATION A Master’s degree in Library or Information Science and possession of or qualified to obtain, a Professional Librarian Certificate issued by Thomas Edison State College.
LICENSE Possession of or the qualifications to acquire a valid license as Professional Librarian issued by the appropriate department within the State of New Jersey. If an applicant does not have a license at the time of appointment, proof must be shown that one has been applied for within the first three months of the appointment.
