What is AI? AI (artificial intelligence) is not just a futuristic technology but already a part of our daily lives, and it has brought and continues to bring significant impact on various aspects of our lives. Recognizing that AI can have both positive and potentially negative impact underscores the importance of ethical AI practices and informed discussions to harness its benefits while minimizing risks.
We, LibraryLinkNJ and the LibraryLinkNJ Technology Advisory Group (L-TAG), believe that engaging in open dialogue, providing accurate information, and promoting responsible AI development and usage are vital steps toward addressing these apprehensions. Through our AI Series, we would like to address concerns, highlight benefits, and provide avenues for learning and engagement together, so that we can embrace AI as a valuable area of study and participation in the ongoing discussions surrounding its development.
In response to your interest in our AI programs, we are committed to providing more AI programs as the field constantly evolves. We will continue to provide programs as we strive to stay ahead of the latest trends and topics in AI.
We will also feature programs by the NJ AI Ambassadors, our AI Ambassadors Series graduates, led by Jon Braun, LLNJ Online Learning & Digital Content Specialist. You can also meet and talk with them during the AI Ambassadors Virtual Office Hours on the third Friday of each month via Zoom. You can also stay up to date with our quarterly NJAI Newsletter edited by Jon with the contribution from the AI Ambassadors and Jim Craner, Library Technologist, The Galecia Group.
